Sensation: Jackie Chan discovered in old Bill Cosby TV series from the 60s!

It may sound unlikely, but it’s true: A young Jackie Chan is hiding in an episode of the hit 1960s TV series “I Spy” starring Robert Culp and Bill Cosby. The fact that the then 11-year-old Jackie Chan and some of his friends appeared in a US TV series should be considered a great coincidence – or was it good research by the producers?

Keigo Higashino is an award-winning Japanese writer. In 2012 he wrote the fantasy novel “The Miracles from the Namiya General Store” (free translation, unfortunately the book has not yet been published in German). In 2017, the Japanese director Ryuichi Hiroki filmed the story, which premiered on September 23, 2017. The Chinese adaptation with Jackie Chan will be released in cinemas on December 29th, 2017. High risk of confusion!

When Jackie Chan’s autobiography “I am Jackie Chan: My Life in Action” appeared in collaboration with Jeff Yang in 1998, readers found an officially verified list of films in which the Hong Kong film legend had worked in front of and behind the camera for the first time. This list goes back to the early 1960s. Hardly anyone knew at the time that it contained a lot of misinformation, not even Jackie Chan.
